The course is entitled " Production, Description and Classification of Speech Sounds". In this course, the sounds of spoken English will be described, classified relying on their production by the human speech organs. But, before doing this, a small introduction to "Phonetics"; as the discipline that is concerned with the production, the description and classification of human speech sounds should be made.These speech sounds are divided into: consonants and vowels .While consonants are described in terms of articulation. Vowels are described in terms of lips and tongue positions.
